The Post Tensioning Institute was established in 1976 and is currently headquartered in Phoenix, AZ. When it was initially founded, the purpose of the institute was to furnish the post tension industry with information, studies and to set standards. Today it has grown to a massive structure of individuals dedicated to serving their members with up-to-date information they need to stay current in the post tension industry. They maintain a level of standards in their certification program for plants producing unbonded tendons. Not only does this allow an additional quality check for the plant itself, but it also reassures the customer that they will receive a quality product. The institute is an excellent source of information for any prospective post tension purchaser.
